Obituary
Salvatore J. Garofalo 91, most recently of North White Plains and formerly of Scarsdale and Valhalla, N.Y. died on Oct.8, 2020 at his residence. He was born on Feb.26, 1929 to the late Giuseppe and Caroline (nee Maggio) Garofalo in Brooklyn, N.Y. Sal served proudly in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired X-ray Technician for his brother, Dr. Frank Garofalo in Bronx, N.Y. Sal was a proud member of the Valhalla Fire Department, Valhalla American Legion and Lions Club Assoc. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Marie (nee Scotti) Garofalo in 2002 and also predeceased by his son, Anthony Garofalo and brothers, Frank and Joseph and sisters, Anna and Louise. He is survived by his loving children, Gina (Peter) Kavanagh of Valhalla, N.Y., Gary (Christine) Garofalo of Bronxville, N.Y., Salvatore and Thaddeus Garofalo. Also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Peter (Keely), Kara, Kyle, Tommy, Ellie and great grandchildren, Mac and Murphy. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday, 3-7 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Tuesday, 10 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
