Obituary
Joseph P Primerano, 78, of Valhalla, NY, went home on February 10, 2021. Born at White Plains Hospital on August 26, 1942, to Nina and Guiseppe Primerano, Joe grew up in White Plains and graduated from White Plains High School in 1960. He worked for the electrical division of Consolidated Edison, making his way up to chief lineman. He lived in Valhalla his whole adult life and was a communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Church. He loved Valhalla, and was involved in many community groups. He was a coach and board member for Kensico Little League, and was a member of the Valhalla Volunteer Fire Department for 36 years, rising to the rank of Chief, also serving as a fire commissioner, and later served on the Westchester County Fire Advisory Board. Joe also had two stints as a coach for the Valhalla High School football program, totaling 22 years, and was a member of the staff for the 1996 state championship team. Having never lost his love of children, upon his retirement, Joe drove a school bus for Stotz Garage in Valhalla. Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arlene Ludwig Primerano, a sister Chic, his children, Maria (Ron) Biro, Linda (Ed) Horalek, Joe Jr, David (Katie), 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Joe was pre-deceased by two sisters, Nancy and Kay, and two grandchildren, Tanya and Michael. Visiting at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday, Feb.15,2021 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Tuesday, 10 AM. Interment will take place at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y. in the spring. *** Due to the Current World Health Crisis, CDC regulations and restrictions will be followed and enforced, including wearing facial masks and practicing social distancing, Thank You for your cooperation.
