Marcos Castro, 92, of Sugar Hill, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A visitation for Marcos will be held on Saturday, January 14, from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home Buford Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Friday, January 20, at 2:00 PM.
Marcos was born August 1, 1930, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to the late Samuel and Zoila Castro. He was a volunteer firefighter in Valhalla, NY for 38 years. He retired from the New State Department of Transportation with over 10 years of service. He also served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran.
Marcos is survived by the love of his life of 63 years, Matilde Castro; son, Mark Castro, daughter-in-law, Daniella Castro of Sugar Hill; brother, Rafael Castro; beloved granddaughters, Isabella, Gabriella, and Nicole Castro.
